My kids are off school this coming week. I just spent $300 in groceries, wanna guess how long that will last with everyone home? It should last the better part of 2 weeks. I'm guessing the snacks and easy to grab out of the fridge stuff is gone by Monday.

What are you having for dinner tonight? Yesterday was tacos for the kids and left over veggie chili for the grown ups. Tonight is steak-ums! I forgot all about these little things from my teen years until I happened across a box in the freezer section. The boys all love them and they aren't hard to make. Audrey just wants a cheese sandwich when I make them and that's easy enough to do. One box is usually enough for dinner for everyone and maybe a lunch for me later too. I have some left over chopped onions from the chili that I will grill up for the grown ups as well. Yum.

My name is Sasha and I currently have three boys with one more little boy due any day now (at least I HOPE any day now!). My kids are 5, 3 and 16 months and the husband and I have been happily married for six years. I'm 25 until December and most people consider that pretty young for having this many kids! I'm hoping to find some other moms here that are as "crazy" as I am for having a large family but are enjoying it for the most part.
I'm really excited about being a member and look forward to meeting everyone!

I just found out that we're expecting! And I was NOT expecting to be expecting LOL However, DH and I are very happy, albeit afraid to tell the kids. We've got some low hanging trees around here, if you catch my meaning. :-p

JOB DESCRIPTION: PARENT

POSITION  TITLE(S):
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Long term, team players needed for challenging permanent work in an often chaotic environment. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next. Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION:
None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION:
Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS:
While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth and free hugs for life if you play your cards right.

Wednesday when I had a REALLLLLLY bad day at work and came home upset. DH knew I Was upset and while I sat down and wrote out a letter to my union steward, he fixed dinner.

IT WAS AWESOME! You guys, this is so simple but SO GOOD!

He used our Foreman grill to make grilled cheese.... WITH PEPPERONI!

He took one piece of bread, laid it down placed a slice of American cheese on it, then layered about 9 pieces of pepperoni all over the cheese. He then topped the pepperoni with another piece of American cheese and the other piece of bread. Droped them on the foreman grill until nice and golden.

WOW They were SO GOOD! We enjoyed them with some Corn Chowder! MMMMMMMMM

In face I enjoyed them so much, I am making them again tonight. LOL!

What are the tricks you all do to save money at the store? I also lurk about on poor skills LJ and they connected me with this website called Hillbilly Housewife... Link here she is very Christian (as a warning for some who might not want to click) but she has some GREAT ideas on what to do for meals when money is tight.

I know with those of us having more than the "norm" number of kids, our grocery bills can get very high... so I wondered if we could all share a point or two it would benefit us all I do believe!!!

Mine? I try and shop either late Friday night or early Saturday (like around 7AM) at our Meijer store because they mark down their meat 40% but it has to be used or frozen ASAP.

The other day I went to the store with a budget of 100.00 to feed us for a week. I met the challenge and spent 100.33 including 3 bottle of Dynamo laudry soap... but I planned out menus including HAM I was having a SERIOUS craving for HAM! So this is what I did...

1 half fully cooked ham
(PLEASE BEAR with me I don't measure anything- so these are guesses)
1/3 bottle Karo light corn syrup
1/8 cup mustard
1 tsp salt
2 tsp onion powder
3 tsp chives

I mixed everything up and drove a knife into the ham in several places (not just scored it, I wanted this in deep.) so then I popped it into the crock pot, dumped the mixture on top and left it on low heat and kept spooning the sauce over top throughout the day. It was WONDERFUL! I know it sounds weirdo, but everyone enjoyed it!

I made that with my version of au gratin taters... I use the box stuff (heck It was on sale even!!!) I bought three of them, did the water and milk and butter as indicated, but only put in two packets of the powdered cheese. I added in my own shredded sharp and medium cheddar. Bake until all warm and golden... add a lil bit more cheese and pop it back in until that is warm and melty and golden!

Served it with warm Grands biscuits.

Last night was Sloppy joes and tater tots. I bought this yellow lable Not so sloppy stuff... MAN it was GOOD! I will be buying it again! Brett cooked for me so I could rest. :)

Tonight we are closing on our equity line and have basketball practice so I might just order pizza... I don't want the poor man to see a messy messy house... our heating element went out on our dryer so there is already laundry everywhere the guy cannot come until tomorrow!!!! so I don't know if I want to deal with slop all over the stove too!
